Astrid recently finished a project on equal rights for persons with disabilities, April 20th, 2009.

Group

All 4 new students at EL Liceo Ipalteco are doing great. Matt and Michael were able to sit in on a parent teacher conference. They all have great parental support and are at the top of their class, April 21, 2009.

Buying Shoes

Josh and Michael helped the students pick out tennis shoes for PE class, April 24th, 2009.

Ana Dolores: Update

Ana is doing great! She recently met with her teacher (left) and her principal (right) to go over her first semester in school. Before now, Ana had very little education, and struggled to catch up. Now, she is well on her way to writing in cursive. Ana has a great school with great teachers who have volunteered their time to stay late in order to help her succeed.

Michael Meets with Mayor of Ipala, Chiquimula

Michael is just returning from his May Guatemala trip. During that time, he had the privilege of meeting the Mayor of Ipala, Roel Perez. They were able to tour many poor communities and meet potential children for next year's scholarships.

Break Time!

While Michael was in Guatemala, he took the time to reward the children by taking them to play games. This was the first time that many of the children had a chance to break away and just have fun.
